My favorite things: May 2015

my-favorite-things

I missed last month’s entry because I didn’t really have anything to talk about, but I’m back in the My Favorite Things link up for May! Here are things I’ve been loving the past month.

Game of Thrones

Season 5 of Game of Thrones has started! I don’t read the books, but I am hooked on the show. When it first aired a while back, I was hesitant to give it a try. I didn’t think it’d be something I’d like. I didn’t realize the show was actually filled with politics, strategy, and all-around-backstabbery. All the different stories and crazy things going on keeps me wanting more.

Also, the female characters! They are amazing! I especially love how Daenerys has grown, how manipulative Margaery is, and how tough Brienne and Yara are.

Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

I am sooooo addicted to this game. It’s a roguelike game, in which you start over from the beginning every time you die. It might sound repetitive, but every time you play, you get a random map, with random enemies and rooms, and random pick-ups. It’s a different experience every time.

As you learn the game and unlock better items, you get better at it and can get further. The story and enemies of the game are pretty messed up, but I find it so fun. I’ve done many, many play throughs already, and I’m still not tired of it.

Aahhh, I’m so addicted to this song right now! The chorus is so catchy!

And that’s it for this month’s entry! I hope everyone is enjoying May so far 🙂

All of the yeses for Game of Thrones. When it first came out, I wasn’t sure either but I am so glad I gave it a chance! Daenerys is my favourite – love, love, love her.

Can’t wait to see what they’re going bring us this season!

I’ve read A Song of Ice and Fire, and Game of Thrones has deviated a lot from the books but I still watch it. XD I’m pressed that they cut out a certain character that I liked, but I understand that so many characters wouldn’t translate well on TV. But hmm, they also made some super major changes that I thought made no sense. I don’t know, I have a lot of love/hate feelings. Gah, I wish I knew how to quit Westeros lol.

That game looks like a lot of fun! XD I think I’ll try it once I finish Pillars of Eternity. 😀

I would probably have mixed feelings if I read the books too, haha. My friend told me about some of the changes, and she was especially annoyed at the changes to Robb’s wife. One of these days I’ll get around to the books!

    I must be the only one in the world not into GoT, but that’s okay 🙂 I’m glad it’s going strong and that you’re enjoying it! The last television show I got into was Downton Abbey, but since they killed off one of my favourite characters in season three, I don’t feel inclined to watch any more of it X_X;;

I still haven’t heard enough about Game of Thrones to try it. I need more information. 🙂 I am surprised I don’t know more. Within a year after Twilight came out I knew the whole story line without seeing the movie or even the preview. 😀

I LOVE GAME OF THRONES! I started watching it in China with my boyfriend; we torrented the first three seasons and then I religiously torrented each episode of season 4 like an hour after it finished airing in the USA. XD unfortunately that’s not really an option in the States, so he’s been able to watch it with his friend who has HBO Go. He comes over and watches it with me occasionally, so I can get all caught up, but right now I’m two episodes behind DX

Aaaah Game of Thrones!! I’m so happy the new season has started! I’ve read all the books, and I loved them, but I still love the tv show too. Some things the show even does better than the books, which is very unusual.

And yes, the women! Brienne is my heroine <3 I also enjoy how Margaery started out like this seemingly sweet innocent girl and now she's becoming bolder and more manipulative by the minute.

Love Binding of Isaac! I was iffish about getting the new Rebirth version but there was more content and a different ending so I had to have it. I love Game of Thrones but I’m fretting a bit since they’re going so far off book in some areas and we’re rapidly approaching the end of the book’s narrative. I’ve heard GRRM has said he’ll write new content for the show to coincide with future books, but that means I won’t know what happens! Still so addicted, the actors brings these characters to life so well.

  • Connie says:

Oh man, my ex-boyfriend tried to get me into Games of Thrones, but to be honest, it was so hard for me to retain so much information in the beginning and keep track of who is who! I will definitely try it again…in the near future haha

I only know one thing on this list: The Binding of Issac: Rebirth. Good game, honestly. I once hated that game, but I gave it shot and love it. It’s so dark but a great game. Haven’t watched anymore episodes of Game of Thrones. Just one episode seen, twice.

i didn’t finish watching game of thrones season 3…i think i got too tired somewhere along the way haha and i’m distracted and hooked by other superhero tv series like arrow and the flash. i waste too much time playing video games i kinda stopped following tv series :))
i’m just glad daenerys’ dragons are growing up, like i love anything about dragons so it’s amazing. such an amazing dragon mom 😉
