Seattle + OOTD #2

My husband and I recently took a short trip to Seattle from the 15th to 18th! We went for a friend’s wedding and stayed a couple extra days to see other friends we haven’t seen in awhile. I’m not the best at keeping in touch, so I was glad they still wanted to meet up, even though we haven’t seen each other in 6 or 7 years.

The Sights

We’ve visited Seattle a couple times before, so we focused more on seeing people than sight-seeing this time around. We did have a bit of time to kill on Friday, so we hung out in Gas Works Park. It’s a park by the lake with a lovely view of the city across the water.

It’s also the site of an old coal gasification plant, and the remnants of it just sit in the middle of the park. Though that’s kind of strange, I loved seeing it because it had the look of industrial mixed with nature.

To get another view of the city, we also went up the Sky View Observatory at night. We’ve been up the Space Needle in the past, and while it’s a great view, you can’t get a photo of the city with the Space Needle in it… because well, you’re in it. You can see it from the Sky View Observatory though!

The Food

Of course, we’re always on a lookout for good food, and Seattle has a lot of it. We chose a couple places, and our friends picked brunch places to meet up at. These were all delicious!

Pork Belly Benedict at Lot No. 3

The Outfits

Thanks to those who commented on my OOTD post! I wasn’t confident in that entry because I thought my outfits weren’t interesting to look at (and I felt awkward in the photos). I really appreciate the encouragement, so here’s more!

To pack light, I tried to match as many things to the same black jeans, Vans shoes, and cardigan. We flew in on Friday, so I kept it super simple with a grayscaled look.

The only bit of color is from my bag, which is a tokidoki design from LeSportsac – pretty much two of my favorite things put together. The size of this bag is great for travel because it’s not too big but also fits my DSLR.

My outfit on Saturday was almost the same, but I wore a cute bunny top from Yesstyle instead. (I love getting cute tops from Asian brands!) Before meeting up with a friend, we took a short walk through the Bellevue Botanical Garden, and I turned my husband into an Instagram husband. (Sorry babe.)

The wedding was at a lovely winery in Woodinville, and my husband and I both wore blue – well, blueish-green for me. It’s a lace dress that I bought a long time ago. I don’t dress up very often anymore, so I try not to buy new cocktail dresses unless I really need one.

I have to admit that I quickly bought the purse from Target the day before we left. I realized I only had tiny purses for formal occasions, and I wanted something that could fit a bit more. It’s simple and cheap, but I actually quite like it!

Oh, and I’m wearing black flats, even though I’m so short. I seriously can’t do heels anymore. My feet would have hated me.

Though a short trip, we had fun during it, and I’m really happy I got to catch up with friends I haven’t seen in years. I hope to go back again another time!

Congrats to your friends on the marriage :). Seattle’s weather looked perfect when you were up there last weekend. So cool that you went to the Sky View Observatory! Definitely a place I want to check out next time. I liked the Space Needle but it looks cooler from the outside. Those dumplings look super delicious!

I like how you keep things simple when it comes to outfits. You and your husband looked great at the wedding :). Haha, the significant others of bloggers are great as photographers ;).

Aww man, I’ve always wanted to visit Seattle. Those are such gorgeous pictures, and it looks like the weather was perfect when you were there!

I love seeing other people’s OOTD posts because half the time I have no idea what I’m wearing, haha, so it’s nice to pick up tips from looking at other people’s pictures 🙂 I especially love the green dress you wore for the wedding!

I wish I could turn William into an Instagram Boyfriend! But I feel like I wouldn’t feel comfortable enough in front of a camera, I’ll just end up laughing and not knowing how to pose.

I prefer flats as well. I’d rather be comfortable than sore. There’s definitely nothing wrong with embracing your height. I went to my friends wedding a few years ago. She had an outdoor wedding, I wore heels, and realized that halfway through the ceremony, my heels started sinking into the muddy grass. My shoes and feet were caked in mud. I’m so glad that I had decided to bring an extra pair of flats with me. LOL.

Love this! Yeah, I can’t wear heels or flats anymore, so I wear sneakers like Converse and Vans. XD but yeah, your husband and you look good!

Your pictures are gorgeous as usual, Cat, but damn, once again, I am jealous of the food. My idea of good food right now is Chinese takeout. xD I need to have higher expectations.

Gas Works Park looks really cool! I like the contrast, it’s very unique! The view from the Sky View Observatory is incredible, I love seeing cities lit up at night. The food looks delicious, I would like to try the Pot stickers. Your outfits for the wedding are lovely, your dress is gorgeous and it really suits you! I hope you had a lovely time!

OMG I love the night view! I’m a sucker for city views and this photo of the Seattle night view looks amazing! 🙂

I love your dress so much! I think the green color suits you because it perfectly matches your skin tone 🙂

I know what you mean about heels, lol. I try to avoid wearing them as much as I can because they really hurt like hell, but sometimes it can’t be helped XD

Woow, the night photo is gorgeous! I really like the look of that gasification plant too, it’s almost like a big complex sculpture. Sort of steampunk-ish too with the pretty copper colour. Very cool place!

And I love that you’re doing outfit posts! It’s always so fun and interesting to see what people are wearing! 😀
The bunny top is super cute, and so is the dress you wore to the wedding. That blue/green/turquoise colour is very pretty and it suits you so well 🙂

The food looks amazing too. I’d love to try that Caribbean roast sandwich! And those dumplings!

Glad to see more OOTD. I love how you dress, especially that bunny shirt! And I love tokidoki – the bag is so cute!

Glad you had a good time!

It’s great you were able to visit Seattle and catch up with friends. It’s hard staying in touch with them regularly, but I found that it’s easy to get back in the groove when we do meet up 😀

Gas Works Park has some great views. I love the skyline shot and the second shot looks neat with those coloured buildings! And the plant does look cool with the nature around it. Made me think of Final Fantasy IX, haha! The night view is gorgeous!

The food looks yummy. I haven’t eaten yet, so that’s not helping my cravings XD And your outfit looks great. I love the grayscale one, with your bag providing the colour. Your wedding outfit is lovely!
